A Brief OverviewOur Agored Cymru Accredited training courses are at the core of our innovative and exciting social enterprise. We specialise in training people who have long term illnesses, disabilities or other disadvantages as Dog Walkers, Dog Daycarers and Home Boarders.
Every course offered by SPPOT is intended to benefit dogs too, by promoting kind, effective methods of training and handling to the fullest extent. This is achieved by teaching the most up to date, ethical and scientifically proven techniques available in the world today. Once trained, Professional Volunteer Dog Walkers and Daycarers can work with SPPOT who will continue to train, insure and support each person in whichever way suits them best. Some people will need long term hands-on support to do the practical dog care and walks while SPPOT manages the bookings and administration. We can also support others to set up their own subsidiary business with every level of input and support in-between, it simply depends on the needs and aspirations of each individual. Please note that training places are subject to meeting the access criteria and funding being in place see below: Access CriteriaWe accept applications from people who experience significant barriers to employment, for example because of a disability, mental health issue, substance misuse issues, long term illness or people who are long term unemployed or unable to work for other health or social reasons.
We will also consider applications from people who wish to pay for their own training, providing no conflict of interest exists with our own enterprise. |
